Soft Rava Idli
Ingredients
Rava -1 1/2 cup
Curd-1 cup
Baking soda-1tsp
Salt
Sesame oil-2tbsp
Mustard seeds-1/4tsp
Grated carrot-1/2 cup
Green chilli-1 chopped
Coriander leaves- few chopped
Urad dal-1/4 tsp
Chana dal-1tsp
Hing/kayam podi-less than 1/4 tsp
Method
In a kadai heat oil splutter mustard seeds, urad dal and then add chana dal and roast in medium flame.Then add grated carrot, green chilli , leaves and saute till raw smell goesNow add rava and roast for 2-3 minutes.In a vessel add beaten curd along with roasted rava mix.Mix well.Then add salt and 1 cup of water .Soak for 20 minutes.Then check the water consistency. I added 1/4 glass more water .. So you add accordingly.Heat the steamer and get ready.So just before making idli .Add baking soda and mix.Then immediately pour batter in the mould.Fill 3/4 th portion ortherwise it will spill. Steam for 10 minutes or until cooked well.Our soft rava idli is ready to serve..
