AVAL VILAYICHATHU

Ingredients


Poha-2 cups
Jaggery-200gm
Water-3/4 cup
Grated coconut-1 cup
Ghee-2 tsp
Pottukadala-2 tbsp
Seasame seeds-2 tsp
Raisins-15
Cashew nuts-15
Coconut slices-few
Dry ginger powder-1/4 tsp
Cardamom powder-1/4 tsp

Method


Melt jaggery with water in a kadai and strain it and keep it aside.Then heat a kadayi and add ghee to it.Add pottukadala and roast it in medium flame.Then transfer to a plate.Then roast coconut slices,sesame seeds,cashewnuts,raisins in the same manner.In the same kadayi pour the melted jaggery syrup and heat it on medium flame.Boil it till it reaches a one string consistency.Then add grated coconut to it.Mix it well for three minutes.Then add the poha and mix it well.Then cook it in low flame  for sometime.Then add dry ginger powder powder and cardamom powder to it.Then dry this up on low flame for five minutes.Then add all the roasted items to it and mix well.Our tasty aval vilayichathu is ready to serve.
